The park's Friendship Garden features (a) the Arch of Friendship (1982) dedicated to the sister city relationship between Johnson City and Guaranda, Ecuador, (b) the Junaluska sculpture (1986) by Peter Wolf Toth as part of his Trail of the Whispering Giants series and (c) the Gazebo Memorial (2007) honoring garden founders and long-time garden keepers Carl Bolton, Charles Roller, and Burt Wyandt.

Mountain Home National Cemetery

Mountain Home, Tennessee
The Mountain Home National Cemetery is located within the city limits of Johnson City at West Market (11E) and Sidney Street. The cemetery is on the grounds of the Mountain Home Veterans Administration Center. As of 2008 there were over 13,000 interments. "The Price of Freedom is Visible Here" (from a Veterans Administration entrance sign).
